about
I wrote Traveller my first year living in Belfast. The melody and sentiment have been hanging around my head for years, and Wisdom seemed to present a good opportunity to capture it. I think sometimes we're all a little homesick...
lyrics
Traveller
Read a letter on these pages
From a friend I haven’t seen in ages.
The earth has turned around
And life is upside down.
What has happened to those dreams
We had yesterday?
And the truth is
I am seeing the world
As a traveller.
Things are not the same
This side of yesterday.
Seems like there’s more pain;
Laughter is sweeter
Than the sugar cane
I lived in
Before
And the truth is
I am seeing the world
As a traveller.
If I could ask you just one question,
oh mother of mine,
does it ever stop?
Or does the pain
Go away with time?
I’m so far from home.
I’m so far from home.
