about
All That I Lose is an anthem that keeps me going. It's take-no-shit sentiment chorus contrasts with the tenderness in the verses. I wrote this around 4am the night before going to Paris the first time. I was a bit nervous and reflective.
lyrics
All That I Lose
I can hear a downpour.
It’s breaking outside these walls.
Its fury cuts and then it busts, outside my door.
Can you feel the earth quake,
Or hear its mighty breath give out?
Oh, It rips, it turns, and then it fakes....death.
All that I lose I will win;
and all that I lost I will win.
Take me past the alley gate
And burn me up in these hills.
Oh I’m afraid to watch you break...again.
All that I lose I will win;
all that I lost I will win.
I’m scared that hope has found a home,
That it’s nestled deep inside my bones.
It takes, it eats, it tears and breaks... my crust away.
All that I lose I will win
And all that I lost I will win
And all that I lose I will win
Yeah, all that I lost I will win
